Many players fear taking their first swing on a course. Everyone’s watching and expecting something. We have all experienced that.
But what about standing on top of the tee box and looking at the hole and saying “How the hell am I going to par this?” Now that is a scary experience.
With Halloween just around the corner, I have compiled what I believe to be the scariest golf holes in the world!
Just looking at these holes makes me worry about my score.
What a terrifying way to start the round! A blind tee shot along the cliffs of the pacific ocean, for you to land on on a small piece of fairway. The next shot gets even better when you have to carry a cliff onto a small and difficult green. Even a perfect drive to the end of the fairway at the cliff’s edge sets up a long approach over the coast cliffs. The green slopes back to front making it a super tough par 4.

Double doglegs, with multiple bunkers that come into play. You must hit a good drive and a good second shot or else you have no chance of getting a par on this. The green is elevated and requires a blind shot to reach. This is the most iconic holes at Bethpage Black the golf course. When you are standing on the tee box you have nothing to say just a moment of excitement and fear!

Wolf Creek intimidates the player with the view. Just look at this par 3! It plays 248 from the black tees, you really can’t miss here. It’s virtually do-or-die from the elevated eighth tee box. Misguided shots go into the creek our out into the mountains. Creek in front, creek behind, and a relatively small green means you better hit your mark! Creeks surround the small green. This is a tough par 3, you’re lucky if you can get away with a par here.

Known as “Waterloo”, The tee shot must find a skinny fairway along Lake Singleton. Features a 90 degree dogleg that is located around a lake, filled with alligators. You cannot reach the green in two, so it requires 3 amazing shots to get on in regulation. You must have a good drive on this hole, the second shot is just as important as the first you must place the ball in a good position for your 3rd shot. All that work to only realize that green is ridiculously challenging! Look out for the alligators on this hole!
Number 6 Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando,FL 555 yards par 5
In honor of Arnold Palmer we take a look at Bay hill. Water comes in to play on this C-shaped hole bending left around a pond. John Daly dumped six shots in the hazard in 1998, making an 18 on this hole. Your drive and second shots matter so much on this hole. 3 traps guard behind the green so you must have a good approach shot or you will end up short in the water or in a bunker. Many PGA players have struggled on this hole, it is so daunting.

What a beautiful hole to finish your round. But dont let the beauty of this hole fool you. This monster bares its teeth at every moment. Those who shy away from the water end up in a bunker or even worse in between palm trees. The water near the green and the bunkers on the right come into play. Only the brave make birdie here.
One of the toughest par 4 in golf known as the “road hole” because of road located to the right. Your tee shot is semi-blind and has to go over a shed, if your go right you will end up on a road and have to play your shot from there. With your approach shot you meet a huge bunker protecting the front of the green. Many pro players have struggled in this pot bunker because of its depth and where the pin is placed in the tournaments. You are lucky f you escape this hole with a par.
this is your tee shot semi-blind shot over a shed.
The front of the green is protected by his bunker. The road behind the green comes into play. Yikes!
